French Hertz vehicles may only be taken in the following countries: Andorra, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Germany, Gibraltar, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Monaco, Netherlands, Norway, Portugal, Spain (not including the Spanish enclaves of Ceuta and Melilla), Sweden and Switzerland.

However a Cross Border fee of € 30.00 (including tax) will apply for all customers including customers on business contract rates (CR).  

You cannot drive, park or deliver a vehicle hired in France in the United Kingdom. If we have reason to believe that you have brought our vehicle into the UK without being entitled to do so, this will be a breach of our Rental Terms and Conditions and all insurances (Third Party, CDW, TP, Super Cover, PI), if taken out, will be invalidated. The driver would be fully responsible for any damage to or loss of the vehicle and would have to pay all consequences themselves, including the cost of repatriating the damaged vehicle. You will be charged £ 1,980/€ 2,317 as liquidated damages to cover the costs incurred in repatriating the vehicle. With respect to the above liquidated damages amount, you are at liberty to prove that no damage has been incurred or that the damage is substantially less than the liquidated damages amount.

One-way returns are not available outside Corsica for vehicles rented on the island. Vehicles rented in Corsica must be returned to one of the Hertz locations in Corsica.

Should these restrictions be ignored all insurance (Third Party Liability, CDW, TP, PI), if accepted, shall be deemed, null and void. The driver will be held fully responsible in case of accidents and will bear all consequences, including the cost of repatriation of the damaged vehicle.

Security Kit

All vehicles are equipped with a fluorescent jacket and a triangle free of charge.

Fluorescent jacket must be kept in the glove compartment. Triangle must be kept in the boot. If partially returned or not returned, there is a penalty fee of € 15.05 (including tax). 

When traveling into Spain from France, customers are requested to get an extra security kit. The second kit can be rented with an extra charge of € 10.03 (including tax).
