How do I get my Hertz Gold Plus Rewards membership card?

Members in the U.S. can print their membership cards anytime on hertz.com; members in Canada use hertz.ca. Click on “My Account” and select “Print Membership Card.”


Is there a minimum age for participation in Hertz Gold Plus Rewards®?

The minimum age to join Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® is 21, and age differential charges may apply.


Will I be charged for Gold service after a year?

No. There is no fee for a Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® membership.


How do I redeem my points for a free rental day?

To redeem points and reserve a car online, log in to hertz.com and make a reservation. Check the box that reads, “Use my Hertz Gold Plus Rewards points.” If your itinerary qualifies for a reward, you’ll see your options on the “Review and Book” page. For further help, view these instructions. Please keep in mind, you will still be responsible for any taxes and fees associated with the rental.


Do I need an advanced reservation to redeem my points?

Yes, a one-day advanced reservation is required for rental redemptions in North America. We do not allow redemptions at the counter without making an advanced reservation online.


Where can I earn and redeem points?

Earn and redeem Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® points at participating locations in the United States, Canada, Puerto Rico, St. Thomas U.S. Virgin Islands, Australia, New Zealand, the United Kingdom, France, Germany, Norway, Denmark, Sweden, Finland, Ireland, Italy, Spain, Belgium, Luxembourg and the Netherlands. Rentals in Switzerland will earn points, but members can’t redeem a reward there.


Can I Transfer Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® points?

You can transfer Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® points to a spouse or domestic partner who is also a Gold member permanently residing at the same address as the primary renter.

However, you cannot transfer Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® points for redemption toward an airline/hotel/Amtrak account in someone else’s name (including, but not limited to, a spouse or domestic partner). There is no limit to the number of times points can be transferred to a spouse or domestic partner, or to the number of points being transferred as long as the points are available in the member’s account.

Call the Rewards Desk at 1-888-999-4900 during the hours of 6:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m. CT Monday through Friday and ask for a transfer of points.


Will my points be returned if I cancel my reservation?

If a reservation which was booked with points is cancelled within 24 hours of booking, all points will be returned to the members account. If a reservation which was booked using points is cancelled less than 24 hours before the scheduled pickup time the following points will be forfeited: If a Gold member, 50% of the points used toward the booking will be forfeited; If a Hertz Five Star® member, 25% of the points used toward the booking will be forfeited; If a President’s Circle member, all points will be returned to the members account. If the customer does not cancel the reservation prior to the time of pick-up and the rental vehicle is not picked up on the rental date, all the points used toward the rental amount will be forfeited, regardless of the members tier status. How can I earn Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® points?

You must be a member of Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® in order to earn points, and only members with an address in the following countries may participate:

How can I earn points on all my rentals?

To earn Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® points automatically on all your qualified rentals, update your member profile:

  1. Log in at hertz.com
  2. At the top navigation bar, click on "My account," and then "My Profile."
  3. Click “Edit” under “Membership Details.” Then check the Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® box and click “Update.”

If reserving by phone, tell the Hertz representative you would like to start earning Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® points.


Can I earn points on additional products and services added to my rental?

No. Points are earned on the base rental rate which excludes taxes, fees, and additional products and services.


Can I earn frequent flyer credit with my Hertz rental?

Earning frequent flyer credits vary by carrier. If Hertz is a partner in the frequent flyer program of the carrier you are flying, qualified rentals can earn program credits. Please review your program’s policies in our partnership section located here in the bottom half of the hertz.com homepage. The Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® program lets you earn points on each qualifying Hertz rental for business or leisure.


ZE1 code was not mentioned on the reservation. Can I still get my Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® points for that rental?

Yes, as long as you request your Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® points within six months of the rental return and you were a Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® member at the time of the rental.

Can I earn bonus/promotional credit for past rentals?

Yes, if your qualifying rental included the correct promotion code and/or CDP number and the rental occurred in the past six months and qualified for the promotion.

How do I receive points for past rentals?

To request retroactive credit for Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® points, log in to your Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® account on hertz.com. Then click “My Account,” followed by “Use My Points.” Click the “Missing Points Request” and complete the online form.


How will I know if I received my Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® bonus points on a recent rental?

To check your point balance online, log in to your account on hertz.com. Your total balance will display next to the “Use My Gold Plus Points” link at the top of the page. For details, click “Rewards Account Activity.”


Do my Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® points expire?

Points do not expire if you have a Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® rental activity in the prior 12 months. Activity means a Gold Plus Rewards® point was either earned or redeemed on a rental. A Gold Plus Rewards point may only be earned or redeemed on a completed rental. Making a reservation or points transfer to a partner company does not count as rental activity.


Gold Plus Rewards points have no cash value. Points will expire after 12 months of no rental activity. If you cancel or terminate your Gold Plus Rewards membership, Hertz believes any of your rental activity to be fraudulent, or you are prohibited from future rentals with Hertz, Hertz will remove and you will forfeit your Gold Plus Rewards balance without any alternate compensation.


How can I get my Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® points balance?

Log in to your account on hertz.com homepage and click “My Account.” Your total balance will display next to the “Use My Gold Plus Points” link at the top of the page. For details, click “Rewards Account Activity.”


What if I’m missing Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® points?

If you believe you are missing any points, you can request a retroactive credit up to six months from the rental return as long as you were a Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® member at the time the rental occurred.

What is the difference between AnyDay Rewards and Standard Rewards?

AnyDay Rewards are not subject to blackout periods and may be used during the busiest travel periods. Standard Rewards are available during all but the busiest travel periods and require fewer points to redeem than AnyDay Rewards.

Can I Transfer Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® points?

You can transfer Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® points to a spouse or domestic partner who is also a Gold member permanently residing at the same address as the primary renter. Your spouse or domestic partner’s GPR account must have had at least one rental activity in the prior 12 months. Activity means a GPR point was either earned or redeemed on a rental. What if my spouse or domestic partner is not a Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® member?

Your spouse/domestic partner should sign up for a Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® membership via hertz.com. Once he or she is enrolled in the program, he or she will have to complete one rental. Once rental is complete, you may call the Awards Desk to transfer points.


When will the points show up in my spouse’s/domestic partner’s account?

If both memberships are at least 72 hours old and have had at least one rental activity, transferred points are viewable on hertz.com within 24 hours of transfer. However, a sales specialist will be able to see the transfer of points that same day and can apply the points to a future reservation. The Awards Desk will transfer you to the Sales area to book the reservation.


How can I view my Account Statements?

Account statements are available online :

  1. Log in at hertz.com
  2. Click “My Account” followed by “Rewards Account Activity.”
  3. Here you will find your Gold Plus Rewards® points activity for the current month and previous 24 months of points activity.
